Management of businesses and organisations is the act of bringing people together to accomplish common goals and objectives efficiently and effectively. Management requires planning, organising, staffing, directing, and controlling an organisation (comprised of a group of one or more people or entities). It also requires effort for the purpose of accomplishing the desired goals.
Part of management is resourcing. Resourcing encompasses the deployment and manipulation of human, financial, technological, and natural resources toward the achievement of the intended goal or objective.
Management can also be defined as human (inter-)action to facilitate the production of useful outcomes. This view opens the opportunity to also ‘manage’ oneself, an absolute pre-requisite for anyone seeking to manage others.
